On Saturday, NSW Police Marine Area Command tasked Marine Rescue to respond to a report of a cruiser sinking at its mooring in Quakers Hat Bay, Middle Harbour. MH30 arrived in time to find the trawler sinking by the bow, its forward cabin heavily flooded. To make matters worse, the flybridge which usually drains aft had also flooded with hundreds of litres of water trapped against the forward coaming. The crew of MH30 managed to feed a salvage hose through an open hatch to pump out the cabin, and after a few hours work the cruiser was once again floating at its normal waterline. Police have notified the owner.
