MARINE RESCUE MIDDLE HARBOUR

Marine Rescue NSW | Middle Harbour Unit

100 %
The steel footing supporting the flag pole at the front entrance to Marine Rescue Middle Harbour has rusted through and requires urgent replacement. The proximity to overhead power lines makes it unsafe to lower the mast from the ground – instead we will need to bring some form of crane onsite to safely lift the mast from the footing. We are seeking funding (or support in kind) to safely lower the existing flagpole, after which we can decide on further action.

10/10/15 Update: Once again our wonderful neighbour Skiffies has stepped up to help us out by dropping the old flagpole. Work is now underway with Edcon Steel of Brookvale to re-engineer the footing.

6/4/16 Update: Thanks to the tremendous support and generosity of Skiffies and Edcon Steel of Brookvale, we have successfully restored and re-erected the flag pole. Marine Rescue thanks the generous members of the community and the unit who contributed their equipment, expertise, and labour to allow us to complete this project without diverting the funds needed to support our operations.
