Marine Rescue Middle Harbour members recently attended an orientation at Water Police (Marine Area Command) headquarters at Balmain. Members received a thorough briefing on how the Police manage statewide maritime Search and Rescue Operations followed by a tour tour of the police vessel Nemesis.
During the visit, members observed the coordination of an actual SAR Operation for a Rock Fisherman missing north of Norah Head, giving them first hand experience of the operation of the SAR coordination centre. The tour of the Nemesis also made a strong impression on all our members, and our guides proved highly knowledgeable in responding to all of our questions.
