On Sunday 6 April Marine Rescue Middle harbour had been asked to act as safety vessels for the Balmoral Swim for Cancer. Our local MP, The Hon. Mrs Jillian Skinner had been asked to officiate as the starter for the main swimming race. As Mrs Skinner is also our Unit Patron, we thought it an excellent idea to deliver her to Balmoral for the BSC. Mrs Skinner arrived as per schedule & met with Charlie watch crew before donning life jackets & stepped aboard MH-30. Once out of the channel, Mrs Skinner gladly accepted the opportunity to take the helm of MH-30. Coxswain Ben Crowther then took over the helm again & put MH-30 alongside Balmoral wharf with the able assistence of crew Lyndie Powell & Tony Whybrow. Once Mrs Skinner had safely disembarked, MH-30 departed the wharf to make contact with the events safety officials. MH-30 then received a call for an assist 3Nm off Freshwater. MH-30 then left the safety vessel duty’s to MH-20 & off we went…. Ben Crowther
