Marine Rescue Middle Harbour

Marine Rescue Middle Harbour serves recreational boaters on Middle Harbour, Sydney Harbour and adjacent offshore waters.

cropped-01f25c5b71b5e3eac62577a295c2a2b277dc79708d.jpgBased on the eastern shores of The Spit, Marine Rescue Middle Harbour uses Middle Harbour 30, a fast response 11.6m (38ft) Steber launch accredited for search and rescue service up to 30nm offshore.

With almost 100 members, our dedicated volunteers at Middle Harbour have an extensive depth of experience and skill ready to serve the larger Sydney boating community with boating safety information and rapid response to Search and Rescue emergencies. Marine Rescue Middle Harbour also provides boat safety education courses for boat licences, marine radio and elementary navigation.

Hours of Operation
Our base and vessels are manned weekends and public holidays at the following times:
Daylight Savings: 7am to 7pm
Other Times: 7am to Sunset

Special Events: Marine Rescue vessels are manned for extended periods to support major aquatic events such as the Sydney to Hobart Race, New Year’s Eve, Australia Day and other peak periods.

Marine Rescue Middle Harbour maintains a 24x7x365 Emergency Callout Roster to respond to emergencies outside scheduled duty hours.

Marine Rescue Sydney provides 24x7x365 marine radio coverage for the Sydney region.
